I am so lucky to be able to say I have made my income from art and design since leaving college and have enjoyed every minute of my working career. My first job at 18 was designing and illustrating giftware for The Silver Crane Company in Dorset, mostly filled tins but also fun 'pop-art' ceramics. I was their first full-time artist and my role encompassed conceptualising ideas, all the way through to final artwork; mostly targeted at male ‘impulse purchase’ gift ware, designs and packaging both for in-house and external clients including Avon Cosmetics and other national and international gift ware companies. Some of my designs are now highly collectible!
At 21, I moved to East Anglia and joined Stennik Advertising as a graphic designer and then became freelance, setting up Maui Waui Design in 1989.

For many years I primarily designed for Adnams (packaging, pump clips, brochures, leaflets and photographic art direction). My design for Adnams Regatta won ‘best beer mat’ in 1997! I recall my friends from the pub creating a sash along the lines of “Miss Beer Mat 1997” to celebrate!
My clients have included Portmerion, Royal Doulton, Cardew Design and Samuel Heath for ceramic product design and transfer artwork, Elite Gift Boxes for tinware and Suffolk based Adnams Brewery and The Cask Marque Trust for advertising, websites, packaging and logos. I have worked on pump clip ideas for Guy Ritchie's Brewery and bespoke invitations for Cartier and many breweries, pubs, hotels, shops and food and drink companies, including Somerleyton Hall, Elveden Estate, South Norfolk Council and Gresham's School. Some of my product designs have sold around the world and I continue to work with giftware and houseware companies, designing fabrics, ceramics and tins.
Please do check my fabulous reviews and feel free to contact me either by email or by phone. And when I'm not designing graphics......I write songs and play music with my musical buddies - see videos below. I also help my son with his music events such as the Maui Waui Festival in Norfolk...

...and I also create sculptures from broken jewellery, mostly birds and insects.
